Susan Lamb is serving her first term as Fayette County Clerk. Susan was elected on November 7, 2023, winning 67% of the vote.

Susan has served constituents of Lexington-Fayette County for thirty-nine years. She takes pride in educating her constituents and sharing her extensive knowledge of local government.

During her time in the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Council Clerk’s Office, she worked to improve transparency for the public as well as fellow government employees by implementing a new legislative management system. She also implemented a voting and video streaming system for all Urban County Council, Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment meetings. She was project lead for the transformation of a state-of-the-art Government Records Center & Archives facility.

After 27 years, she retired and transitioned to a different kind of public service, as an elected member of the Urban County Council. While serving as the 4th District Urban County Councilmember, she cultivated strong constituent relations and community partnerships with public meetings and community events. She championed funding opportunities for Lexington’s Arboretum Visitor Center Expansion Project, Lexington History Museum and the creation of Juvenile Treatment Court.

In her first term as Fayette County Clerk, she has expanded early voting into all six Lexington libraries. She has launched a new state-of-the-art website and moved the office to a safer, CISA recommended .gov domain. Susan provided support to her county clerk team as well as constituents during the Ky. Transportation Cabinet’s implementation of the new Ky. Automated Vehicle Information System (KAVIS). She worked with her team to implement a new Emergency Management Plan for both staff and the public’s safety.

Susan will continue to create more ways to educate the public about services offered in the County Clerk’s Office and how best to navigate those services. She will continue supporting and providing leadership to her team members to always improve our procedures. With newly launched social media, the office will begin connecting to the public by sharing valuable information and updates.

Susan grew up in Bagdad (Shelby County), Kentucky, and moved to Lexington in 1986. She is married to Diana Queen and has one son, Jeremy, who has a beautiful family with wife, Jackie, and their three children. Susan loves being Yaya to her grandchildren, playing golf and the beauty of horses.
