How to Register or Update Your Voter Info
You have 3 options:
- Online
- Visit GoVote.ky.gov
- In Person
- County Clerk’s Office – 162 E. Main Street Room 202, Lexington, KY 40507
- By Mail
- Send a completed Kentucky Mail-In Voter Registration Form to your County Clerk.
- Military members, their families, and overseas citizens can use the Federal Post Card Application.
Who Can Register to Vote in Kentucky?
You must:
- Be a U.S. citizen and a Kentucky resident
- Be registered in your county at least 28 days before the election
- Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general election
- Not be a convicted felony, unless your civil rights have been restored (Check your status at civilrightsrestoration.ky.gov)
- Not be declared mentally incompetent by a court
- Not be registered to vote in another state
The registration books close 28 days before each primary and election. You must be registered in the county where you live prior to that time in order to vote.
