[LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY, October 30, 2025]

The Fayette County Clerk’s Office will be closed to the public (except for the Elections Department) on Thursday, November 6, 2025 @ 12 Noon through Wednesday, November 12, 2025 @ 8 am in order for the Renewal and Transfer Motor Vehicle Department areas to get a refresh with new paint, carpet and furniture. These areas have been operating with the same carpet and furniture for over 20 years.

We chose this weekend because of the November 11th holiday to lessen the time the office is closed. It is difficult to close at the beginning or the end of any month.  We also want to continue to encourage vehicle owners to go online www.DRIVE.ky.gov to renew their motor vehicle registration.

The Elections Department will still be open in order to facilitate candidates to either pick up or to turn in their filing forms. November 5, 2025 is the earliest date for the affixing of signatures on candidate filing forms for an office on the ballot in 2026. We will have signs on all the Fayette County Clerk’s Office entrances with the phone number to call and we will open the doors only for people who have business in the Elections Department.
