HELP KENTUCKIANS VOTE!
SERVE AS AN ELECTION OFFICER!
Did you know you can earn money helping your neighbors vote?
Serving as a Precinct Election Officer
As a Precinct Election Officer, you play an essential role in ensuring fair and lawful elections. Kentucky state law outlines several important responsibilities you’ll be expected to perform on Election Day. These include:
- Picking up and returning election supplies
- Opening and closing the polls
- Checking in voters
- Overseeing the voting process while the polls are open
- Performing any additional duties required by law
Each polling place will have at least four appointed Precinct Election Officers to share these responsibilities.
Officers must complete online and in-person training. You will also take an oath to uphold the laws of the United States and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and to carry out your duties to the best of your ability. It’s your responsibility to help ensure the election is run fairly, honestly, and in line with the laws passed by our elected officials.
Across Kentucky, dedicated citizens like you help make elections possible. Elections are the foundation of our democracy—they give every voter the chance to have a voice in choosing leaders and shaping our communities.
Research shows that when voters feel election officers do their job well, their trust in the voting process increases. Your role matters—and your service helps strengthen confidence in our democracy.
