Renewal of a Kentucky Boat Registration

What you will need:

  1. Original Certificate of Registration (Photocopies are not acceptable)
  2. Social Security Number for each owner on the registration or Federal Tax ID Number for companies
  3. If the original registration is not available, the current registered owner must sign an Affidavit for Replacement (TC96-167) and have their signature notarized. There will be an additional $6.00 fee for the replacement. (If notarized outside our office – $3.00)

Registration Fees:

  • $31 – 1 ft. to 16 ft.
  • $50 – 16 ft. to 26 ft.
  • $60 – 26 ft to 40 ft.
  • $75 – 40 ft. and over
  • $20 – Trolling Motors
  • $53- All inboards and inboard/outboard motors
  • $2 postage and handling fee if applicable (Expired registrations cannot be renewed by mail.)

Property tax and registration fees will be due at renewal.

Lost Boat Decals

Affidavit for Replacement (TC96-167)

Complete the following:

  • The upper half of the form with signature and notary
  • Check boxes to indicate the decal has been lost

Fees:

  • $6.00 – Application notarized out of our office
  • $9.00 – Application notarized by the County Clerk’s office

Lost Boat Title

Application for Boat Title/Registration (TC96-184)

Complete the following:

  • Boat Information Section
  • Owner/Buyer Section, including current owner’s name, SSN and address
  • Check the appropriate boxes for the lien information
  • Signature and notary

Fees:

  • $6.00 – Application notarized out of our office
  • $9.00 – Application notarized by the County Clerk’s office
