Repossession Process

  • All repossession transactions must be done in the county where the first lien was filed.
  • If a vehicle has two liens in different counties, the secured party files paperwork in the county of the first lien.

What You Need:

  • Affidavit Supporting Repossession and Disposition of a Vehicle (Form TC96-192)
  • Termination Statement
  • Application for Kentucky Certificate of Title / Registration (Form TC96-182)

Fees:

  • $9 title fee 
  • $3 – $6 clerk fee

Speed titles are available for an additional $16
